Elderflower Water
When entertaining a large crowd, we always like to have an icy cold refreshing drink for guests to enjoy during the party.
Not only does it really jazz up the bar, but it creates a feature piece, like a bunch of flowers, but edible!
And this water looks SO inviting, you have to try a glass. What we also really like is the idea of having a glass of water in-between each beer or wine. Now this is called 'Responsible Entertaining'.
Elderflowers, otherwise known as Sambucus (elder or elderberry) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae. It was formerly placed in the honeysuckle family.
Elderflower Water
500 ml bottle Elderflower Drink Concentrate
Chilled water
4 lemons, cut into wedges
4 limes, cut into wedges
Bunch mint, rinsed, remove stalks
Ice
Large glass bowl or water chamber for service
Combine all the ingredients together and infuse 1 hour prior to party. Add more ice prior to service. We mix one part concentrate with 8 parts chilled water. So, to this 500ml Elderflower concentrate, we added 4 litres chilled water.
And this mix can also be the base for a Vodka Elderflower Cocktail, where we add a shot of Vodka to the glass, with a squeeze of lime to serve.
